What a grand day. Went out to see a 92 on the "Harwich Hook" charter service which went via Ipswich with a 59, and got a very nice suprise when 37688 brought back 47832, 90007 and 12129!

What a night! After getting stuffed onto the slow lines at Watford Junction we then ended up at Crewe some 20 minutes late. Little did we know that whilest we were sleeping our train was going to stay at Crewe for another two hours! This was due to cable theft yet again between Crewe and Warrington. This forced our slleper service to be extreamly delayed and to be diverted via Wilmslow and Manchester with the aid of a class 66. We then were shunted backwards so we cleared the signal by 66107, then we have 66081 from Crewe - Preston.

We finally made it to Stirling some 185 minutes late and our plan to do the Fife circle had gone out the window. We made it back to Waverley in time for 1E08 to Newcastle where we could get a rattle to Sunderland.

When we got to Sunderland we saw what would form our service back to Kings Cross in the form of 43067 and 43068. Sunderland isn't the nicest of stations but the quality of customer service, cleaniness of Grand Centrals trains were outstanding!

When we arrived in London we decided to make our own ways home as we were shattered. Many Thanks to Steven, Jack and Ross for a grand week! I'm looking forward to another in 2010!

A day to visit the south east on England and to clear lines we never done before.

Firstly the quality of the electrostars are excellent. Clean, quiet and southern have great customer service. We also passed St Leonards where we saw 66402. Also we saw 442401 and 403 at Brighton. Then went over to Ashford and saw a 395. Then went down to Tonbridge and captured 2 class 73s in the yard. We then got back on track with the plan and continued to make our way to Clapham Junction. After that went to Willesden Junction to see some 378s and then went to Euston in time for 1S25 to Stirling. What an exciting night we had laid in front of us!

Had a good night sleep upon The Night Riviera Sleeper. The task of today was to clear the line to Penzance and enjoy ourselves.

We also visited Dawlish sea wall and went up Langstone Rock. Shots from Penzance, Dawlish, Newton Abbot and Plymouth.

Wow, we went through the centre of Toton on 1Y20! And its a booked route!!! (Sundays Only). Then we made our way to Cardiff and Llanelli via Derby with 57006 was stabelled. We also passed Newport, and Margham deports! I also sampelled the FGW referbishment which was carried out a few years ago on their HSTs, and they are very smart and comfortable. One bad thing is the number of tables per coach!

Once we arrived at Paddington we got some tea, photographed a few powercars and our sleeper and then we are bound for Penzance.

What a horrible night! The sitting part of the sleeper is horrible! Rather a bed! Anyway the first service we got was from Marylebone to Wrexham with the newly formed open access opperator Wrexham and Shropshire. They hit every nail on the head, trains were clean, very friendly staff and excellent customer service!

We then went over to Crewe to do some photographing and yet again it threw up another suprise! Then we decided to leave the planned route via Selby and Hull Trains to get back to Nottingham. We went via Leeds to pass Midland Road which sadly was opstructed by HHA coal wagons.

Had an alright night sleep, untill Edinburgh where i was woken up as the sleeper splits. Then i managed to drift back to sleep again. The point of Day 2 is to say that we have been to these places. Pictures include shots from Inverness, Kyle of Lochalsh, Edinburgh Waverley and Glasgow Central

I got the first service from Diss in time to meet up with Ross at Kings Cross and walk over to St Pancras. We then went to photograph the new class 395 Javalins. We then got a HST to Nottingham where we met up with Jack. We decided that going all the way to Leeds on a 158 would be boring so we decided to change at Sheffield and go to Manchester. We basically ran an hour ahead of ourselfs and thankfully that chucked up a few good treats at Crewe! We then made our way to Brum intime for the VT scratch set with 90026 on the rear. When we arrived at Euston we waited for the 21:15 sleeper service to Inverness.

We then moved to Willesden Junction with a 37 poped through and a few sheds. Finally we went over to Clapham Junction then onto London Bridge, by this time time had cought up with us and it had become dark. We then went to St Pancraus and Kings Cross then i went onto Liverpool street to catch 90010 home.

A chance to see the Anglia RHTTs in action this year with mainly class 57s at the controls. A couple of ours spent at Ipswich, then over to Norwich, then Ely, up to Cambridge to avoid rail replacement. then back at Ipswich again.

A cold and wet day at Nene Valleys' Autumn Diesel Gala produced 66729 on its first ever passenger run, and many other locos including 56312 in purple, 37518 in a new paint job and many others. Thanks to those who made this possible.

The day which ended into a farce. We were ment to go to Prestonpans but only got as far as Pitlochry due to 66620 failling on the single track. When she was finally removed we decided to call it a day and returned to Kingussie to see the Royal Scotsman.
